The flexibility in creating lessons tailored to each student’s needs allows me to make learning more meaningful.

What language(s) do you teach? Why did you choose a career in teaching?

I teach Thai, which is my native language. I chose to start teaching because I enjoy helping others connect with Thai culture and language. Teaching gives me the chance to share the nuances of Thai, especially conversational skills, with people eager to learn something new.

Tell us about your teaching qualifications and history.

I have experience teaching Thai to beginners, including one-on-one sessions with non-native speakers in Vancouver. My focus is on conversational Thai, pronunciation, and real-life scenarios. My background in project consulting and communication has been valuable for structuring lessons in a clear, practical way.

What attracted you to teach with Language Trainers?

I was drawn to Language Trainers because of their structured approach to language education, which emphasizes both language proficiency and cultural understanding. The flexibility in creating lessons tailored to each student’s needs allows me to make learning more meaningful.

What is your favourite thing about working with Language Trainers?

My favourite aspect of working with Language Trainers is the diversity of students and the supportive environment for both teachers and learners. It feels great to be part of a team that values quality language education and encourages students to embrace new cultures.

What do you look for in a student?

I look for curiosity, openness to learning, and willingness to practice speaking and listening actively. Language learning can be challenging, so I appreciate students who approach it with a positive and resilient mindset.

What should students expect from you as their teacher?

Students can expect a structured yet flexible approach, focused on practical, everyday Thai. I emphasize speaking and listening to build confidence and encourage natural conversation. I also make learning enjoyable and relevant, incorporating cultural insights to make language come alive.

Describe your most memorable teaching experience with Language Trainers.

One memorable experience was when a student, initially shy and uncertain about their skills, had a breakthrough in conversational Thai. Watching them express themselves more confidently and naturally was rewarding and a great reminder of why I love teaching.

Why should students enroll in a language course with Language Trainers?

Language Trainers provides a personalized learning experience with teachers who care about student success. Each course is designed to fit the student’s pace and needs, making it possible to achieve meaningful progress. It’s a wonderful choice for those serious about truly learning a language.

Tell us a fun fact about the language you teach or a favourite expression you ask your students to learn.

One fun fact about Thai is that similar-sounding words can have completely different meanings depending on the tone! For example, "ขาว" (khǎo - white), "ข่าว" (khàao - news), and "ข้าว" (khâao - rice) all sound similar but mean different things. It’s a fun challenge for students to master and adds a unique twist to learning Thai.
